Eight hundred and fifty artists from seventy five countries participated in what is currently recognised as the largest exhibition of contemporary art in the world. The 6th Biennale was held in the historical setting of the Fortezza da Basso in Northern Florence, and is described as;

"An extraordinary encounter between different cultures, styles and languages... [which aims] to diffuse, without any economic, social, cultural, current or style barriers and prejudices, the artistic nature of all populations throughout the world.

London based artists Gilbert and George, received the Lorenzo The Magnificent Award, and were interviewed by Tim Marlowe, Director of Exhibitions at the White Cube Gallery, London. Marlowe then questioned Peter about his unique "Double Edging" technique, after viewing his entry "World of the Fifth Sun", a large scale oil on canvas painting.

Peter's work is in many private and public collections worldwide and has been exhibited in New York, London and Barcelona, as well as at the Liverpool Biennial 2004, when The University of Liverpool hosted a Retrospective Exhibition of his work. Most recently he was awarded the Lexmark European Art Prize, North West, and his work can currently be seen at the dot-art Gallery, Queen Avenue, Castle Street, Liverpool.

The artist was delighted to be able to help promote the artistic talent of Liverpool on an International stage as we enter 2008-

"As one of the originators of the European Capital of Culture idea in 96 / 97, I am looking forward to an exceptional year of artistic and cultural events, highlighting the city to an International audience."
