Baltic Triangle Push Grows With Highways Programme
Following the announcement of a £5.2m Baltic Triangle investment plan, Liverpool City Council is planning to deliver more than £2m worth of highways improvements in the area.
A public consultation event will be held on Thursday at the Contemporary Urban Centre, with representatives from the council, Merseyside Police and 2020 Liverpool available.
Funding is being sought from the Northwest Regional Development Agency and the European Regional Development Fund. The project will include improvements to the public realm on Park Road, Jamaica Street and Blundell Street and a major upgrade of Jamaica Street itself with a comprehensive new street design. Peter Millea, the council's executive member for assets and development, said:
"This demonstrates our joined-up approach and commitment to improving the environment and facilities for all businesses in the Baltic Triangle, which will see some much-needed improvements."
