"Chris Taylor's ability to take a publisher's sometimes obscure concept and create from it a striking cover illustration that compliments a book, yet doesn't overwhelm it is nothing short of amazing"
Matt Ward, publisher, Skive Magazine, Australia.

Chris Taylor is a Liverpool based Illustrator and Designer who has been specialising within the publishing sector for the past 4 years. Chris says:
"I have always loved books and magazines of all varieties, especially ones with interesting pictures and illustrations to accompany the text and felt it was a direction I should pursue. I started emailing my illustrations and designs to many, many magazines, e-zines, and publishers all across the world hoping for someone to take an interest. Luckily an Australian magazine Skive, wanted to use one of my illustrations. Skive then put me in touch with a publisher in New York - World Audience."
World Audience (www.worldaudience.org) publishers the literary journal audience, a review, and books by authors from across the world, all distributed and shipped globally with print-on-demand technology, and as e-books. Chris continues:
"I love the creative process it takes to design or produce the artwork for books, from reading the text, transferring my thoughts into images, input from the author (who I always like to be involved) and the publisher, finalising the digital images and sending them to print. The best part is receiving the finished book - very enjoyable no matter how many I have done."

Chris has worked with a variety of authors including Frank Romano author of 'Storm Over Morocco'. Chris explains:
"I loved working with Frank Romano on 'Storm Over Morocco, he has had a fascinating life and been on Fox 4 in America to discuss it. The cover was a collaborative effort with another artist, something I enjoy doing as it gives an additional dynamic to the process."

Chris has recently produced a graphic novel of the off-broadway play "The Tragedy of Abraham Lincoln". The play that was first produced in New York in 2006. With its cast of 21, The Tragedy of Abraham Lincoln is a great play for schools or educational settings of young or old. This historical play focuses on the last year of President Lincoln's life and the dramatic events that surrounded it.

Abraham Lincoln and other major historical figures of this period are thoroughly explored: Generals Grant and Lee; John Wilkes Booth and the entire Booth family; Frederick Douglass, Mary Todd Lincoln. Now stocked in major bookstores and in the New York Public Library! Chris explains:
"That is the project I am most proud of. Firstly I was asked if I would be interested in transforming the material into a Graphic Novel. It was an exciting challenge for me as it was my first graphic novel and it has been highly successful"

The novel is now available to buy, please contact Chris for details.
Chris is currently working on the book series 'The Tony Lowell Mysteries' by award winning author Gene Ayresa. The books will be re-released soon under a new publisher. Chris is keen to develop his Merseyside based contacts. He explains:
"As well as creating further graphic novels I would like to work with clients or collaborate closer to home, so if you find my work interesting get in touch!"
